Mauricio has been steadily building a name for himself in the world of Opera. Placido Domingo honored him with a career grant as an up and coming international talent. An alumni of the Manhattan School of Music where he was awarded the Panasonic Scholar Prize, Mauricio soon after was signed by Sony Classical as one of the "American Tenors" and released his first CD and DVD in 2002.
Some of Mauricio O'Reilly's recent performances have been as Cavaradossi with the New York Grand Opera in Central Park under the baton of Maestro Vincent La Selva, Pinkerton with the Sarasota Opera with Maestro Victor DeRenzi, Alfredo in La Traviata with the legendary Maestro Anton Coppola, Luigi in Il Tabarro, The Italian Tenor in Der Rosenkavalier, and the Duke in Rigoletto, among others.
Tenor Mauricio O'Reilly, a native of Mexico City lived inspired by legends like Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante and other artists from the Golden Era of the Mexican Cinema. It is because of his great love for the music of his nation that he released this material.
