Octavia âMissyâ Lewis Yates


Born: February 25, 1975 in Culpeper, VA

Married: Gerald Yates

Children: A daughter Zoren Yates, and step-daughter Chesnea Greene

Church Affiliate: Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Culpeper

Education: Graduated from Culpeper County High School, and received an Associates in Applied Science degree from Northern Virginia Community College, with a major in Dental Hygiene.

Works as a substitute teacher for the Culpeper County School System and home based business.

Music Background: Octavia has been singing in the church from an early age, and started playing the piano in the church at age 15. Coming from a musical family, and playing piano by ear was a gift from the Lord. She then studied music all through high school making the schools highest choir and all district chorus. Outside of school, she had taken private piano lessons for over two years. Octavia currently serves as minister of music at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She has directed choirs in workshops, for live recordings, played and sang for many local churches in the community when needed for all occasions.

Released debut CD âCall On His Nameâ in 2007.

Hobbies: Singing, hanging out with family and friends, and watching Oprah.
