Pizmon is the co-ed Jewish a cappella group of Columbia College, Barnard College, and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Since 1986, Pizmon has traveled to hundreds of communities in the New York metropolitan area, across the country, and around the world, to offer Jewish music as a source of inspiration and community outreach.

While Pizmon is a collegiate group, our main focus is off campus, in the Jewish community. During a typical academic year, Pizmon will perform for more than fifty audiences ranging from Jewish day schools, community wide concerts and homes for the elderly. Once a year during our Spring break, Pizmon travels to a community further away than those that we are able to reach during the rest of the year, especially visiting communities who have faced great obstacles. Over the years, during this Musical Outreach Initiative, Pizmon has visited Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Israel, England, France, Ukraine, Argentina, Uruguay and various regions of the United States. These trips are funded by our regional concerts, CD Sales, and donations.

We are proud of our diversity, with members originating from nearly every imaginable background and Jewish denomination. Through our music, we serve as a role model for a unified and active Jewish youth.

Although the group changes every year as old members graduate and new members arrive, the spirit and energy of the group continues to grow.



Pizmon is a not-for-profit group.

All donations go towards subsidizing the group's activities.
