Gabrielle is known for a host of roles ranging from operatic to musical theatre. She made her New York debut as Rosina in National Grand Operaâs Il Barbiere di Siviglia, which she also sang for Opera Hamilton, Markham Opera and Pacific Opera, Victoria. Favourite operatic roles include Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (Canadian Opera Company), Carmen (Carmen) Opera North, Adalgisa in Norma (Gold Coast Opera, Florida), Cenerentola (La Cenerentola) Bermuda Festival and Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera) Colorado Music Festival. She has also performed leading roles with Anchorage Opera, the Guelph Spring Festival, the Oregon Bach Festival, Boheme Opera, NJ, Opera of the Hamptons, Calgary Opera, Edmonton Opera, Nevada Opera, Aldeburgh Festival and extensively with the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble.
Known for her versatility, Gabrielleâs concert repertoire ranges from Handelâs Messiah, to pops concerts. She has performed with many leading symphonies, among them the Toronto Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, Ravinia Festival, Detroit Symphony, the Rochester Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony, the Meadowbrook Festival, Spokane Symphony, Shaw Festival, Bach-Oregon Festival, Winnipeg Symphony, and the Saskatoon Symphony. Gabrielle was also the winner of many competitions and awards and has been broadcast internationally on radio and television. She played the role of Dalila in Samson et Dalila with Opera in Concert, and Lalume in Kismet with Toronto Operetta Theatre. Recent concerts have taken her to Omaha, NE where she will return in 2009. The Westben Festivalâs 2007 Summer and Hammerstein concerts marks her fifth engagement with this popular festival.
Gabrielle's first original song, I'm Not Going Anywhere/Non Andro Via, written with composer/pianist Brian Finley, took first place in the Johnny Lombardi Italian Canadian Song Festival in September, 2007.
Baritone Robert Longo as the title character in Toronto Operetta Theatreâs The Chocolate Soldier was named âthe perfect leading manâ by Paula Citron in Opera Canada Magazine. This season Bob has been heard singing everything from Mozart (Bass soloist, Coronation Mass, Regina Coeli, Mohawk College Singers) to Musical Theatre (Aspects of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Westben Arts Festival and Patience, TOT) to Mary Had a Little Lamb (Vocal Music teacher, Toronto Catholic District School Board). Bob made his film debut as the singing Wiseman in the TV Feature Comfort and Joy. In the 1000 Islandâs Playhouse Production of The Secret Garden, Bob played the role of Dr. Craven. He was featured as Captain Tarnitz in the Papermill Playhouse production of The Student Prince, and was Lancelot in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival production of Camelot. On the U.S. National tour of Les Miserables, Bob played the role of Javert to critical acclaim and played the Beast in the Toronto production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Other Toronto credits include Anatoly in Chess in Concert; Smudge and Frankie in Forever Plaid; The Narrator in Into the Woods, Bathurst Street Theatre and several productions with TOT. Bob made his Broadway debut in the revival of Shenandoah with John Cullum and was featured at the Broadway Cares benefit performance of Chess. While living in New York City, he enjoyed creating and developing many new works, including Judyâs Scary Little Christmas directed by Leonard Foglia (Master Class), a new musical rendition of Moll Flanders and The Prince and the Pauper by Neil Berg. Operatic credits include roles with Opera Atelier, Anchorage Opera, Minnesota Opera, and the Santa Fe Opera Company. His varied concert career includes Gershwinâs Girl Crazy for New York Cityâs American Opera Projects, A tribute to Andrew Lloyd Weber for Rockwell Productions, Pennsylvania and the premier of Glen Buhrâs Comic Opera, FLUX with members of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony.
