âI got the music predominantly from my Fatherâs side of the family. My first memories of music are from home. I remember when I was about 8 yrs old singing Fats Domino songs into an old tape recorder and listening to my Dad play clarinet at night from my bedroom. Later on I begun to keep notebooks of bits of poems and phrases, they turned into songs when I taught myself to play guitar at around 15 years of age. From there it has been my life ever since, and has taken me to lots of wonderful people and places.â

Through his career he has shared the stage with Bert Jansch, Ron Sexsmith, Sharon Shannon, Paul Brady, Billy Bragg, John Martyn, Donovan, Shane MacGowan, plus celebrated Irish author Paul Durcan.

He was nominated for Best New Irish Act in the 2004 Meteor Music Awards and voted no.8 in the Trad/Folk section of the Annual Hot Press Awards 2005.
