Details:
Run Side Down is a Progressive Rock and Jam quartet based in Madison, WI. Hooky original grooves and an array of cover songs makes the band one of the best out there to see live.
And on the 3rd day, God created lawyers. The band's first brush with fame came at the expense of NASA, who apparently was not thrilled with the band's original name choice "Space Camp". NASA's law firm sent a 14-page cease and desist to the band one month after completing their first album "America Must Dine." The press was quick to pick up on the story, making Space Camp, and the newly formed Run Side Down, the focus of a number of pieces.
The first date the new band performed as Run Side Down was in July of 2005 in Niles, MI. In the fall, the new band headed out on the road again and hasn't looked back yet. They took house gigs in Madison every Wednesday in 2005, and the beginning of 2006. The never-ending string of tour dates the band plays these days is evidence of the enjoyment they take from traveling, and making music together.
Mixing rock with reggae or funk with fusion, Run Side Down creates a sound that is versatile and authentic. An ever-evolving progressive rock and roll band that loves to improvise. They play a mixture of original songs, and carefully selected covers. They have something every fan can latch onto.
Run Side Down has been featured in the nationally syndicated paper The Onion, The Wisconsin State Journal, The Madison Observer, The Isthmus, as well as many periodicals and radio stations around the Midwest. The band has been featured twice in the "On the Rise" section of Relix Magazine. Run Side Down has also been seen featured on Jambase.com, thedailypage.com and kyndmusic.net, to name a few out in cyberspace. The Band played 100+ tour dates last year, and has shared the stage with such regional/national acts as Tea Leaf Green, U-Melt, Green Lemon, The Helping Phriendly Band, Turbine, Melvin Seals w/ Jerry Garcia Band, Ernie Hendrickson and The Make Believe, Down Lo, Cornmeal, and The Smokin' Bandits.
