"Singer-songwriter Mark Stacy's new COLICCHIO album is full of nuance and subtlety and other things of which good songs are made..." says Peter Cooper of THE TENNESSEAN.

'COLICCHIO' is my real last name. When I started performing, I used the name Mark Stacy ('Stacy' is my middle name), because people were having too much trouble saying and spelling Colicchio. But Colicchio is what my friends called me in school, growing up on the West Coast. When folks in Nashville heard the name and started using it again, it felt right, like old times. A lot of the songs on the CD are about my familyÂ, about growing up, and about my grandparents, who were, well, Colicchios. It just seemed to fit. Half of the basic tracks for the record, and all the overdubs and vocals were done at my studio, ÂSound Religion. The rest of the tracks were laid down at John AlbaniÂs, where John also mixed the record. During the mix, John was getting back into photography, and we had the idea that it would be interesting to connect a photograph with each song. The result is: 'COLICCHIO - Words, Music and Pictures.' It consists of ten photographs, each based on a concept from one of the songs on the CD, and mounted next to a print of its associated song lyric. 'COLICCHIO' is a singer-songwriter recordÂ. The material is mostly country, with folk, Beatle and California Pop infusions.
