Born in New York City, the Sunset Kid was raised in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn, and was first introduced to the hip hop scene at a very young age. Having been fortunate enough to experience the dawn of a new era, the birth of the hip hop culture, on the streets of NYC, from so early on, the Sunset Kid has been greatly influenced by such groundbreaking artists as the Sugarhill Gang, Afrika Bambaata and the Soul Sonic Force, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run DMC, Slick Rick, Dougie Fresh, KRS One, Rakim, and Biz Markie, to name but a few.

Having had no formal training in music whatsoever, it was not until he was 11 years old that the Sunset Kid became aware of his love for making music and performing. 3 years later, on his 14th birthday, to be exact, was the first time he ever picked up a pen with the intent of writing rhymes. Now, 15 years later, the Sunset Kid has finally completed and released his first ever full-length CD, "Stomp and Crush", on his very own independent label, Stomp and Crush. The album contains 14 tracks, all written and produced by the Sunset Kid.
