Dr. Denise Williamson is a board certified orthopedic surgeon, with a special interest in nutrition, weight loss and wellness. She is fellowship trained in sports medicine, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a diplomate of The American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges prior to receiving her medical education and MD degree from UCLA.

After completing a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, she returned to California for subspecialty training in Knee and Shoulder reconstructive surgery and sports medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Diego and University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Williamson is known for her holistic approach to health care, including alternative medicine. She has a special interest in nutrition and weight loss and for the past 11 years has successfully counseled thousands of surgical and non-surgical patients on optimal nutrition and exercise. Using a team approach and combining proper nutrition with a sensible exercise program and a realistic, positive mindset, even the most improbable patients have lost significant weight. As an added bonus, the nutrition and rehabilitation programs have helped her surgical patients heal faster and better with very few complications as they progressed to a strong recovery.
