'Sunny One Day' The debut from the dynamic duo Albright, featuring Chris Parks and Vivian Sessoms is a collaborative effort that showcases the twosome's writing and production abilities and features Vivian on lead & backing vocals with most of the instruments played by Mr Parks.

The two met some 10 years ago and shortly after began pooling their resources and energies into writing and producing for other artists including Mario Vazquez (American Idol) and Lalah Hathaway (daughter of Donny), all the while building and enhancing their own spot, 'SuprDupr Sound' Studio in downtown Brooklyn's trendy D.U.M.B.O area (before the area was deemed trendy).

Eventually the pair decided they should do a project that would feature them as artists and the seeds for 'Sunny One Day' were sown, though the recording would still be four years in the making with Vivian taking time off to do various tours (Rob Thomas, P!nk, Chris Botti) and Chris at Supr Dupr composing jingles (Dark & Lovely, Hanes, 5th & 3rd Bank, Coke) and making guest appearances on various albums including Amel Larrieux's Bravebird, Morning & Lovely Standards.

The duo say they are very happy with the end result of their work on 'Sunny One Day' choosing from over 30 compostions. "It was hard to decide what should be on the album" says Vivian. "I couldn't stop trying to make it better" she laughs. "I kept writing new songs and trying to convince Chris that this song HAS to be on the cd, finally Chris just said 'If we're ever gonna' put this cd out, we should do it now, we have enough songs for 3 cd's' and I realized..he was right".

At that point the two began the task of putting together a band drawing from the best musicians on the underground indie scene in New York including:

-Sherrod Barnes on Guitar
-Casey Benjamin on Keys & Sax
-Eric Brown on Drums

Albright began performing around New York city, shaping their sound, and discovered in the interim they had begun to build a following. "I just looked up at a gig one day and the room was full of musicians, a lot of them I knew but a lot of them I didn't know.." says Chris. "We had a lot of people writing in, saying how much they liked the songs and wanting to know where they could get the cd. I kind of wasn't prepared for that, you know? We just figured this is our little labor of love that we did for ourselves, but it's really nice to be getting such positive feedback".

'Sunny One Day' will be released in stores later this year (Oct 2007) but is being sold in advance on CDbaby "for all the people who've been writing in on the website and on Myspace" says Vivian.
"We're very proud to be selling our cd on CDbaby. They do so much for indie artists, they give credence to all of our efforts and offer us a true opportunity to be heard" she adds.
"I've known Derek Sivers for a long time, and I've been keeping up with him over the years. We did our first big tour together and he was always so full of great ideas and good energy even then. When Chris & I started work on the cd, everyone said 'you have to sell your cd on CDbaby' so when I discovered CDbaby was Dereks baby I was floored! I called and he was just awesome. He had so much great advice and information to give and was just so gracious about everything. We owe a huge thanks to all the staff at CD and Hostbaby" she concludes.
