Here's what's new and what's happening with Badmagick.

Fallen is Badmagick's sophomore release. This is a hard hitting fast paced CD. The band recorded the disc as a four piece. It was engineered and produced by guitarist Tim Presz at his home studio in Chicopee, MA.

Badmagick is currently playing about 30 shows a year. Most of those shows are before crowds that average between 200 to 500 people. Some smaller venues that only hold 150 people and some as many as 2,000 people. Give the band an audience and they'll play for them.

As of September 2007 Badmagick's myspace page has had over 650,000 visitors and the numbers are constantly growing. The band is on pace to reach 1 Million page views by the beginning of 2008.

Right now Badmagick is working with Substantial Records, an indie label based out of Shippensburg, PA. They've been working hard to promote themselves. The promotion is working as they've seen a large increase in received emails from around the world. People who like their music and let them know, which has been very rewarding and cool to the band.

A brief history

Badmagick was formed in November of 2003 by band members Michelle Smith (drums), Brian Markelonis (bass), Tim Presz (guitar) and Chris Perry (vocals). The band played live shows in the Western Massachusetts and Connecticut areas until May of 2004.

On May 4th, 2004 Badmagick's drummer, Michelle Smith, died in an accident while traveling to work at about 8:30 AM. At the time Michelle and bassist Brian were living together and soon to be married. This was a very difficult time for the band as they had not only lost a musician, but a close friend.

As a result of the loss of Michelle the remaining members Chris, Tim and Brian recorded an EP of original songs ,without drums, as a tribute to their fallen friend. Also included on the EP "Never Broken" is a music video for the song "Smoke And Glass" featuring some live footage of Michelle playing congas.

In December of 2004 Badmagick played their first live show since the loss of Michelle. John Myslinski, a friend of the band and a drummer himself, offered to keep time behind the drum kit for Badmagick. This worked out well for the band, because John was not only friends with the band, but someone whom Michelle had commented on previously about how she liked his drumming.

Fast forward to today. Badmagick is currently playing shows from Maine to Maryland. The band has been including songs from their Fallen CD during their live stage performances and the crowd response has been very positive.
