Electronic music combined with powerful preachers- like Billy Graham, J Vernon McGee, and others. Guest vocalists include Phil Wickham, Sarah MacIntosh, Phillip LaRue. This is an innovative project to share the Gospel through super-hip music. Amazing idea 12 MP3 Songs ELECTRONIC: Tech-House, SPIRITUAL: Scriptures Details: I owe a lot of thanks to Jonny MacIntosh (Producer/Engineer), who took all of my songs to another level of greatness. He is truly gifted, and helped me find purpose to every track. Enjoy Good Music (listen) I found an old record that some church in Los Angeles put out in the 60âs. The album was a recording of the churches choir. Apparently the church gave these records as a gift to new visitors. In the introduction to this album, the announcer sayâs âAll of us enjoy good musicâ¦â I thought that would sound great to a beat. Take You to Heaven (listen) I knew that if I were going to combine music and preaching, I would have to write a song for my hero, Billy Graham. I would love to do a whole album someday with his preaching. This particular sermon that he preached (from the 70âs) was particularly special to me, because he talks about the value of the soul. Any one, who knows me, knows that I love the topic of soul value! âHeâs willing to save you, Heâs willing to forgive you⦠He wants to take you to heaven.â Just the thought that God wants to take us to heaven is awesome. What will it be like? I love the way Billy Graham sums up the Gospel- âThe Gospel is, that in spite of your sins, God loves you!â This song was an honor to create. Here I Am (listen) This was really the first song I wrote for the album. Sarah MacIntosh sang on this track. I should of let her sing the whole thing! I wanted to have a song that expressed my heart. I just want to be available to preach to whomever God wants. It is God who calls the preacher to preach. It is God who does the powerful work through the preacher. When the Preacher preaches, he is simply coming along side of God, to change lives for eternity. In other words, the message of the Bible is proclaimed, and the Spirit of God convicts the unbeliever of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The preacher must be a willing vessel. His prayer is âhere I am, send me.â That is my heart. I just want to be available for God to speak through me. Iâm Listening (listen) I love this song. My friend, Phillip LaRue, was kind enough to write this song with me. We wanted to express the difficulty of hearing Godâs voice. It seems that we are being called by 2 voices. Good vs. evil/God vs. Satan/the Spirit vs. the world) Godâs voice of wisdom sometimes seems like a whisper, yet the voice of the evil world seems like a scream. I think hearing the voice of God takes practice over time. When you do hear His voice, you will find that it is full of love. It will draw you closer to Him. But also keep in mind, when the voice of the âenemyâ is yelling at you, he will always try and keep you away from God. It will be a voice of condemnation vs. the voice of holy conviction. Jesus said, âMy sheep- hear My voice!â Interesting (listen) J. Vernon McGee has taught me so much about the Bible. I have listened to a ton of his sermons. I found a rare tape of him preaching live! (Not from his popular radio show.) As he was going through the somewhat boring genealogies of the Old Testament, he asked his audience if they found any of it interesting. I knew immediately that phrase was a hit. I wrote this song and gave it to producer âMy Reportâ. They did an awesome job of making it interesting. The beats are brilliant. My favorite line is when he talks about the âweak hand of faithâ. âGod reaches down his mighty bared arm⦠and saves us for time and eternity!â Powerful! Who Am I? (listen) What can I say? Phil Wickham is brilliant. I canât take credit for this song. Even though I wrote the music, Phil made it a masterpiece. I asked him to transform the song, and he wrote the lyrics and sang this song on the fly. One Take Jake! If Walls Could Talk (listen) I love black preachers. I love this sermon. The preacher is transparent. He sayâs that if his walls could talk, he would be ashamed at what they would say. They have seen him at his lowest. They have seen him at his most shameful moments. What a powerful thought. Thank God walls donât talk⦠But you know, God sees everything. Nothing is hidden from His eyes. We should always be aware of His presence⦠it will help us stay away from sin! Prodigal (listen) Brenda Sejeran sang on this track. I called her up around midnight, and she came right over to the studio to record! What a smooth voice. This song needed to have an R&B silky voice on it. It is written for that prodigal who thinks he is too cool for God. What will it take for a prodigal to surrender to God? A lot of parents wonder that question. So many young people want to live a life away from God. They in stead live a life full of awful sin and destructive behavior. God is patient. Parents pray. I just hope that this song will ask the tough questions to a prodigal. How long will you run from Him? How long will you stay in your sin? He can save your soul. Man, the sooner young people surrender to God, the sooner they start living like they were supposed to! The Cross (listen) One of the most difficult things for a preacher to do is personalize the cross. How do you communicate the message of Christ suffering in such a way that the person listening owns it? It was my sin that crucified Him. It was my sin that nailed him to the tree. I found an old record of this sermon preached by W.A. Criswell. He knew how to preach the cross, so that the listener would own it. I always pray, âLord, help me to personalize the cross. I want to own responsibility, so I can truly be grateful for your sacrifice.â I hope this song helps us to become more thankful for the cross.
