Artist description
The David Clare Band are an explosive folk-rock group from Dublin, Ireland, who formed in the summer of 2000. The group are led by singer/guitarist David Sheridan Clare, and they have released two critically lauded albums on A.C. Records - 2001's The David Clare Band and 2005's Throwing Shapes.
The band's poetic songs, which are written by David, have been compared by reviewers to those of Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello, and they tackle romantic, social, and spiritual concerns with insight and wit.
The band's sound is beautifully enriched by keyboardist/producer Ronan Johnston, whose keyboard chops have graced many Irish chart hits, and who, as a producer, has worked with some of the biggest names in Irish music, including Bob Geldof and The Saw Doctors. Other members of the group include Brian Tavey on lead guitar, David Blake on bass, Michael Goss on drums, and Deirdre Clare on backing vocals.
Since forming, the group have been playing shows in Ireland, the US, and the UK. For more information about the band, visit their website at www.garageband.com/artist/DavidClareBand or write to them at DClare1@eircom.net.
