Throughout his life, Lamar has not only become an anointed singer but also a faithful servant to Godâs will. Although he has been singing since the age of 8, God has declared 2007, as Lamarâs year of Jubilee! In a world filled with traditional music, there have only been a few artists who step out on faith to reach the ânon-traditionalâ Christian. âWhat is Love?â describes emotions, understanding your relationship with Christ and more importantly the basic principles of living a Christian life.

Lamar is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Batiste. Reared in a home with God-fearing parents, Lamar was able to grow and understand the meaning of âtrue loveâ. On Feb. 3, 2001, Lamar married Stacey in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Lamar and Stacey have two lovely kids, Kyler and Naya.

âSetting your own standards for lifeâ is Lamarâs motto. Love is not something you feel. Love is something you do. Knowing Godâs love is: understanding He wonât let you go, standing when the rain falls down; and allowing Him to guide your decisions.

Lamar has opened for Ben Tankard, Rance Allen, and Trinitee 5:7 and other local groups in his community. He has performed with many choirs and groups such as Hyssop and Steelo. Incorporating different styles of singing Lamar has found his uniqueness, which reflects his album What is Love?
