Details:
Maria (Marielle) Ripoll was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico in 1948. Her father chose an Army career therefore they moved to Germany where Marielle started hearing music by different singers like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Louis Armstrong, which developed in her an appreciation for blues and jazz.
Moving to Kentucky from Germany Marielle encountered gospel music and country music which subsequently influenced her musical inspirations. Singers like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Loretta Lynn were an inspiration to sing and expand her own style. Later on listening to the King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley, fixed her style with a touch of blues. Later the British invasion, The Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Who enlarged her scope of creativity. Further along Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead completed the musical guidance.
In 1960 returning to Puerto Rico, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri and Rey Barreto became her mentors in that special touch of Latin in her music.
In the late 60s she appeared on local television shows. She went on to win the Yunque de Oro for best vocalist.
With her guitar talent growing, she recorded a record in Spanish and went to New York on concert at the Teatro Puerto Rico in 1969. Without skipping a beat she got her BA in Medical Technolgoy.
Her style and talent soon took her to London where she was signed with the Joes Loss Agency and Joe Loss Orchestra...Yes! the Buchingham Palace Orchestra. She performed in London's Albert Hall as a singer for the orchesta and was on tour for the following three years.
In 1973 she moved to Hollywood and was signed at the Improvisation Comedy Club and one of her co-workers was none other than Freddy Prinze. Joey Healy's Agency signed her and she toured throughout Calilfornia and Texas with the Arcana Orchestra.
In 1976 She became a Headliner at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.
In 1980 Marielle started song writing. She appeared at clubs like Bleeker Street's The Other End, the New Yorican Poetry Shop and summer touring in Provincetown, Ma and the likes of Vorellie's Lounge.

Her third CD, 7th Heaven has songs like I will Stand by Your side, Going on Higher, and the Teaser are a product of her melting pot of rythm and blues and a touch of country light rock.
The song, I'm a Portorrican in New York is a song of camaraderie that she composed for the Puerto Rican people in New York.

Her love of music continues to grow and through the 7Th Heaven CD she hopes to share with music lovers everywhere a touch of what she holds dear in her heart...reaching out to all.
