Saxophonist, Singer, Songwriter; Ray a native of Memphis, TN follows in the footsteps of his late father who as a guitarist and harmonica player had a serious passion for the blues.

The well-touted Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. â known for producing great musical talents as Quincy Jones, Diana Krall, Branford Marsalis, and Mindy Abair â helped to shape Rayâs musical career.

Ray has recorded with some of Gospel musicâs most accomplished recording artist. He has opened for Al Green, Jerry Butler, Karen Clark-Sheard and many others. Ray has also shared his talents on several great musical plays as âMama Donâtâ by playwright Michael Matthews and âWoman Thou Art Loosedâ written by Bishop TD Jakes and produced by Tyler Perry.

November 2000, âBecause of You,â Rayâs debut CD
hit Store shelves and soon became the best distributed jazz CD in itâs category for Red Eye Distribution in a 12 month period. The CD features soulful renditions of gospel classics âOh Happy Dayâ and âAmazing Grace.â The CDâs title track,âBecause of Youâ features Rayâs sultry vocals and a soul touching saxophone solo on this beautiful ballad. It catapulted to the number 6 spot on Dr. Bobby Jonesâ Top 20 Count Down list on his weekly syndicated radio show, âThe Light.â

In 2004, after great success with his debut CD, Ray releasedâReflectionsâ his sophomore recording. The CD, which features mostly originals, shows a more contemporary side of Rayâs style and feel for Inspirational Jazz and has captured an international audience.
