Details:
With each breath, DACKS inhales the singer/songwriter hooks of John Mayer, the electrifying baritone of Jim Morrison, the driving guitar riffs of Audioslave and exhales a sound that is recognizably DACKS.

The band has emerged as a driving force in the New York City, Boston and Philadelphia music scenes playing venues like The Bitter End, The Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Harper's Ferry, The Kendall Café' and The Pontiac Grille. DACKS has shared the stage with national acts like The Samples' Sean Kelly featuring Vertical Horizon's Ed Toth on Drums, Sony/RCA recording artist Highway 9, WXPN's favorite Jam-Band Entrain, legendary songwriter Willie Nile, Engine Company's NYC recording artist Mike Errico and Lilith Fair's new emerging artist Rachael Sage. DACKS was also invited to play in Boston at Harper's Ferry's 2001 Blues & Music Festival which featured Entrain and headliner Bo Diddley. That evening DACKS received a strong review on Boston's 92.9 WBOS-FM radio station.

Michael Surprenant: a drummer who can expose the inaccuracies of a digital metronome, Jon Gherardini: a bass player whose NYC subway reading consists of National Geographic, Smithsonian and Bass Player magazines and Jon Dacks: the front-man who invented new guitar tunings to score the soundtracks of his daydreams. Together these distinct personalities create one unique and yet familiar sound that lead singer Jon Dacks refers to as, "The DACKS Machine." Jon Dacks reveals his own experiences and beliefs while speaking through the many different characters in his songs. "I pick up my guitar, close my eyes and my imagination is the key that unlocks the door...when I step through one door, another opens."

Through their live performance, DACKS takes no prisoners. "The audience doesn't just 'hear our music, they can 'feel' it," explains bass player Jon Gherardini. From the first anthemic hook of 'Hear My Prayer,' to the unforgettable emotion of 'Things Have Changed' to the undeniable groove of "Downtown," we are never afraid to be ourselves, let down our guard and show our colors.

DACKS has just released their first 12-song CD called, "The Downtown Lounge." The CD was recorded and mixed entirely by the band in their digital home studio. You can order a copy online here at www.CDBaby.com/Dacks. For further information,
