Blackout Gorgeous might be known to some of you as Invisible Sea. The band went through a name change about the time this album was recorded. That would be a pain in the tail I am sure, but non-the-less the bands brings the imagination and style to this release. Tragic Logic is an outstanding mix of electronica meets soft soul rock and mind-numbing mood music. I really like the variations that pour in and out of your head on these thirteen songs. Imagine Radiohead, The Flaming Lips and Portishead getting together to put out a CD and it could easily sound something like this. While the band may be on the âlighterâ side to some donât get them confused with the plethora of bands that are emulating the sounds and styles of bands like the above mentioned groups. Blackout Gorgeous has a rich and original sound and I expect them to get plenty of recognition as time goes on. This is a very interesting disc and I urge you to check it out.
