Smooth Guitar Jazz and R&B

16 MP3 Songs
JAZZ: Smooth Jazz, URBAN/R&B: Funk

Details:
In 1963 Danny Weis co-founded classic rock group Iron Butterfly in San Diego, California. On his first solo album, Danny lays down his signature funky guitar licks over original smooth jazz and R&B instrumental compositions. Recorded with care at Phase One Studios in Toronto, Sweet Spot delivers a dynamic and compelling musical listening experience.

SWEET SPOT, featuring 16 tracks, is a guitar based instrumental album showcasing the sweet guitar of Danny Weis. Danny was taught guitar by his dad Johnny, a well known country jazz guitarist who performed with Grand Ole Opry stars Johnny Cash and Tex Ritter. At home, renowned jazz guitar legend Barney Kessel was a frequent visitor as he and Danny's dad would jam together. These early influences formed the foundation of Danny's unique, funky, rhythmic style.

Danny has played and recorded with The Everly Brothers, Burton Cummings, The Rascals, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, Melissa Manchester and more. In 1979 he appeared as Bette Midler's guitarist in the film "The Rose" , based on the life of Janis Joplin. As bandleader and guitarist for the movie's soundtrack, he received a platinum album award.
