An identity crisis expressed by a multi-genre parade with a cast of Memphis' "who's who" joining in the fun and confusion. Whimsical and surreal satire.

Non Sequiturs: Music for the attention deficient.
I had an identity crisis during the production of this record, wondering, "What should my name be?" How did people like David Bowie and Elton John choose their names? I thought it strategic to name myself Bobby Barbados.
As if it mattered. People still call me Camren. Everyone still calls me Camren. All the people that played on this record call me Camren. They chose my name for me - Camren Von Davis. I never even had the intention of having people use my middle name, but they do, and it's absurd.
So, I realized "I don't need a pseudonym. My name is weird as it is: a misspelled first name, the most typically southern last name, and a seemingly severly German middle name." Bobby Barbados is now like the personification of identity crisis and that artistic intellectual's attitude that doesn't have the patience to have one idea and stick with it, which can make you insane.
In considering how to market and promote this record I went through one idea after another. Marketing is my profession and as such I looked for the link between the music, the packaging, and my own identity to make it all a cohesive whole but continually fell short. But now that I have the record sitting in front of me I realize what the thread of it all is: my attention deficit. I have more ideas than I have the ability to carry through with any of them.
In short, each song on the record is a dabbling in a different genre accompanied by a different instrument arrangement, different guest musicians, and completely differnet moods. It is how I live my life - jumping from one thing to the next in a sequence on non sequiturs, both emotionally and in regard to what I am involved with.
I am not trying to find myself - that is who I am, or who Bobby Barbados is - merrily scatter-brained.
