New York State born-and-raised Darci Monet has been in demand as a professional vocalist since her college days at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She has sung backup and/or recorded demos for such famous artists as Steve Winwood, Dolly Parton, Amy Grant, Kim Carnes and The Judds as well as some of the industry's most successful songwriters like Beth Nielson-Chapman (Faith Hill's "This Kiss"), John Hiatt ("Have A Little Faith In Me", most recently recorded by Mandy Moore) and Alex Harvey (the classic "Delta Dawn").

Since moving to Los Angeles, Darci has released her debut CD as a solo artist entitled "My Own Road" (described as a cross between Heart, Melissa Etheridge and Aretha Franklin) and her voice can be heard singing "The Rose" in the Fox Searchlight hit film "Napoleon Dynamite" (now on DVD and video) and on the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed indie documentary "When Boys Fly". Recently Darci appeared on UPN's syndicated "Live in Hollywood" talent competition and received a standing ovation with her show-stopping rendition of "Proud Mary" (see the video at her website). She also landed an in-store jingle for Subway Sandwiches. She has performed live for crowds of thousands throughout her career, most recently singing backup for 80's teen icon Tiffany at the Long Beach Pride Festival.

Darci has also recently redirected her career toward songwriting, currently teaming up with singer/songwriter Levi Kreis (www.levikreis.com) for his first solo project with a major record label (check out "Make Believe" for a taste, written by Darci, Levi and Matthew Hayes and produced by big wig Ron Fair, exclusively at soundclick.com/darcimonet), where a tune she cowrote with him is slated to be released as a single. She has pitched songs to artists like Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Clay Aiken and Faith Hill. Darci is always available for studio work and is the consumate professional. She has built herself a reputation in the studio as "the one-take wonder". Darci is classically and commercially trained, reads music, can arrange vocal parts on demand and is as proficient on solo projects as she is in groups. Darci can handle all styles but excels in rock, pop and soul.
