A Little About the Choir: The DuVal Vocal Music Department consists of students from various ethnic, racial, religious and economic backgrounds. The 2006-2007 choir has approximately 120 choir members divided into 4 choirs: Concert Choir, Mixed Chorus, Gospel Choir and Honors Chorus. "The Choir" studies a variety of musical genres including: Classical, Spirituals, Pop and Gospel. The 2006-2007 program of music includes: Cantate Domino by Pitoni, The Word Was God by Powell, Battle Hymn Of The Republic by Wilhousky, Lift Every Voice And Sing by Carter and Nia by Burleigh. The choir works towards performing at various competitions, festivals and music events throughout the year. For the 2007-2008 school year the choir has already been invited to perform in North Carolina, Georgia and Nebraska.
