âWhen I Had Wings,â based on a whimsical musing of Moreyâs five-year-old daughter Emma, is a solo guitar recording consisting of three original compositions and eight cover tunes in a number of genres including pop (Beatles, Randy Newman, Procol Harum), classical (Spanish and Renaissance), and latin jazz (Jobim and original).
About Dunstan Morey:
Dunstan Morey has been playing all kinds of guitars - electric and acoustic - professionally since 1971. He spent many years as both sideman and leader in bands of all descriptions, from classical to country, jazz to pop and playing in venues ranging from black tie dinners to northern bars, from concert halls to Peter Gzowskiâs Morningside.
About 10 years ago, Morey committed to playing exclusively on nylon-string guitar, both the standard âclassicalâ guitar and the more modern solid-body nylon-string model.
For the last five years, Morey has been the house guitarist at La Maquette restaurant in Toronto, where he appears four nights a week. In addition, he is very active on the wedding music scene, playing both solo and in duo and trio settings.
