Comprised of the embers from various alternative, progressive, metal, goth, industrial, and experimental bands, the songs of Grasping at Straws are the brainchild of singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Orren Merton. However, the accomplishments of the many other Ember Members range from underground infamy and live notoriety throughout the American West in bands such as Darkling Thrush and Aaron English, to the international success of UKâs Republica and Israelâs Monica Sex.
