Elder Askew began playing the piano at the tender age of four. He acquired his initial music training at Norwalk Music Studios and continued intermediate classes in classical music and theory. Elder Askew fostered his musical training at Johnny Sabsack Music Studios in Norwalk.

In addition to orchestrating and playing music, Elder Askew is also an accomplished play write, producer and recording artist. He has served as the Minister of Music at several ministries in Fairfield County, Conn. Elder Askew is a 2003 graduate of Virginia Union University Theological Seminary in conjunction with the Connecticut Institute of Christian Religion where he completed a 4-year certification in Communications and Christian Doctrine. He is also a member of the Hampton University Minister's Conference Organist and Directors Guild, Hampton, Va.

"His-tory" is a 10-score compilation of the greatest story ever told. It's a celebration of life and a story of love. The project illustrates the birth of Christ from the prophetic words of the angel, Gabriel, proclaiming the birth of John the Baptist to the birth of Christ Jesus our Lord.
