Darryl James launched the only Black owned rap music publication, Rap Sheet in 1992. He is the author of "Bridging The Black Gender Gap," which is also the basis of a national seminar series. James was awarded the 2004 Non-fiction Award for his book on the Los Angeles Riots at the Seventh Annual Black History Month Book Fair and Conference in Chicago.
Keeping his voice current and in the national community, James launched a nationally syndicated column called "The Bridge" (www.bridgecolumn.com), dealing with issues ranging from relationships to politics and from entertainment to the "isms" (racism, classism and sexism). James writes for The Los Angeles Sentinel, Unleashed Magazine, The EUR and New York's Newsday among others. James also conducts lectures and discussion groups based on his latest book on relationships.
At the helm of Rap Sheet, James broke artists from Snoop to Wu Tang and from Common to Ludacris. James has launched his music project to change the entire Rap music game.
