The Human Statues is...

The folk and the funk of Jeff Bryant and Zachary Stevenson. The dynamic duo met in 2002 when they performed together in a theatrical production at the University of Victoria. Though the two were vaguely aware of one another, it took a spontaneous diddy called âT-R-O-U-B-L-E (Thatâs Trouble)â to musically bond these young men for the very first time. Their loving musical relationship was soon consummated with a performance of the Beatlesâ âIf I Fellâ for no one in particular.

In the meantime, the constant challenge of JZâs partnership has been distance. However the guys have always kept the hope alive that they would someday collaborate on a musical project. In June 2006, with a
2 week window available, Jeff flew from Vancouver to Toronto to write, record, mix and release their debut album, Sweet Sorrow for the Happily Departed. Now, one year later, Jeff and Zach have seized their long awaited opportunity to indulge their musical ambitions in earnest.

Our Purpose:

Jubilation, man. Jubilation. Jeff and Zach have been takinâ it to the streets for several years as buskers, and therefore have never seen any reason in waiting to share music with others. Having seen first hand the value in spontaneous, organic and genuine interaction with a random cross-section of people, it has long been apparent to the guys that there is no greater purpose than challenging the anonymity we all feel in our culture by generating random acts of âjubilationâ.
