Details:
d. benway's debut album, songs at room temperature, is a patchwork collage of sonic self-portraiture. Twenty-one intimate pieces, some detailed enough to reveal every pixel, dot and stroke, others oceanic enough to completely immerse yourself in. Hard to categorize, this collection spans the spectrum from Pete Townshend's vulnerable bluster to the heart-wrenching naïvete of Daniel Johnston (who contributed the cover art). Repeated spins are necessary to fully chart the geography of benway's troubled psyche and his ultimate transcendence of its boundaries. A tremendous release in every sense of the word.
