Details:
Soapbox Hero was formed early in 2007 to bring to life the lyrics and compositions of JB King, the founder. From day one, battles plagued the formation of the band, however, they overcame those obstacles finding all the right talent to fill all the right places.
The sound of Soapbox Hero is not unique but resounds with stylings of Pink Floyd, Santana and the Allman Brothers influences throughout. So, if you are a Celine Dion fan, you probably won't like this sound.
The words definatly match the music with the stories of the Anti-Christ's arrival and distinguishing features and how he too will be crushed to the praise by angels when another person hears the calling of God and obeys.
Lead Singer and composer JB King has been working for more than 20 years in the music industry from sound engineering to recording and public performance. He's spent much of that time as a Worship Leader in 5 different churches from California to Colorado and now writes songs to encourage and activate the Christian believer.
As before stated the band began forming in early 2007, but didn't complete forming until late September when Drummer, P. (BamBam) Echi came on board. A powerful drummer deeply influenced by drummers like Jon Bonham and Carmine Appice. His stickwork is facinating with the advanced rudiments singing out in the syncopations. BamBam joined us after the recording had been finished but arrangements are being made for the second album to begin production. We look forward to hearing him on the next album.
Guitarist and friend, Chuck Hulsey put in his talents to help complete the recordings of "Vanity of Vanities" to which we are glad to have him onboard. His more than 35 years of music, whether as a teacher or performer, has brought to the band a wonderful dynamic. Chuck is a part-time member filling in until we arrange for T.J. Labencki to come back to the band from which he started. Much of what you hear are his tracks and we miss him terribly but we will have him back.
We are also glad t have the sultry female vocals of Stacy LaMascus-King who as a family member helps to spearhead this band. She also provides us with the photography and much of the brilliant writings that go into our presskits (however, not this time).
In conclusion, Soapbox Hero is a Progressive Christian Rock band with Experimental attitudes, bringing together great music to lyrics that teach the Word of God from the themes laid out in the Bible. We are proud to be Christian and filled with such purpose and calling.
