Star Little Thing releases its debut album âItâs Easy To Be Alive, You Just Are.â

The Dublin band is made up of Arron Faye, Crickey and Grattan and has already been compared to LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture and Talking Heads. Already tipped âones to watchâ by the Sunday Times Style in its âGuide to Irish Hipstersâ and Phantom FM, the underground band is ready to go overground.

Driven by a fear of a normal life and real job, the band has spent the last five years working on this album. Star Little Thing completed an album two years ago but were unhappy with the finished product â it didnât fulfill their brief â to be more than just a collection of songs, stuck together to fill the time. âItâs Easy To Be Alive, You Just Areâ has a defined start, middle, and end. There was as much time spent choosing the running order as was given to any song, and it is pretty evident when you listen to it..... Everything, even down to mixing the album was a highly considered process. The album was mixed for longevity. So, it has warmth, and doesnât tire the ear quickly like a lot of modern records do.

The inspiration for the album can be traced back to everything Star Little Thingâs members have loved since they were lads growing up; music, movies, a night out, girls they met and loved â or hated.

Musically, the album is lots of different things. It has moments where itâs more rock and moments where itâs more dance orientated but in general, its exciting music, and mostly very emotive.

The whole album was self funded and was recorded in the basement of band memberâs Grattanâs house. Everything along the way was self learnt from songwriting, to production and engineering, which makes this album an even more exciting prospect. After 5 years in Grattanâs basement, cabin fever finally set in and the joy of playing the album to people on stage and that they can have it in their house, in their car or on their MP3 player is a great feeling
