Detour is Rich Perez, Mike Baxter, Jon Schick and Daniel J. Cavenaugh. Detour first formed in 1999 with Rich, Mike and Jon. DJ joined in 2001. In April of 2000
we entered Ed McMahon's new version of Star Search on the Internet called Next Big Star. After 13 weeks of elimination's we were the first place winners in the rock category. In return we won $5,000 and a trip to New York City to record a demo at Sony Studios. Since then we have
been playing in clubs, colleges, festivals and everywhere we can find an audience. We have had several Newspapers interviews us and been on several radio stations in and around Chicago. In April of 2002 we went back to our old High School in Peotone and played a Benefit Concert in
memory of 4 of our old classmates who died. We raised just under $4,000 and divided all the money into 4 scholarships for our high school. In June of 2002 we were honored to play in MobFest in Chicago, one of U.S.A's largest music conference. In Sept, 2002 we opened for 2 National Acts, Injected w/ Atlantic Records and The Buzzhorn w/ Island Records at Oasis One-Sixty. In Jan 2003 we were asked by 94.7 Radio to play a show on the Back Porch Stage
at The House of Blues in Chicago. They enjoyed us so much The House of Blues asked us back to play the Main Stage on Mar 1. In Feb 2003 we opened up for another National Act,
OutSpoken w/ Lava/Atlantic Records. In June of 2003 we played MobFest again in Chicago. In July 2003 we played at The Beat Kitchen and the Elbow Room in Chicago for a Q101
Radio showcases. In Nov 2002 we found a financial backer to start on our first full length CD. So we started at Studio Chicago and recorded 5 tracks to our 3rd CD. Then in May we went to Gravity Studios(one of the finest studios in Chicago) to finish 9 more songs and Mastered at Colossal. Since the release of I94 we have traveled the country playing at music conferences and opening for National Acts. In 2004 we opened for George Clinton and the Funkadelics in Florida. In 2005 we played at the Star Plaza Theatre in Mereville Indiana after being voted one of the top ten bands in Chicago. We opened for The Gin Blossoms in July. We have started recording a NEW Albumn to be released later in 2005.
