While tipping his hat to a wide array of musical styles, he explores his own brand of composed, cutting-edge electronica - and redefines its boundaries. With infectious grooves and epic, haunting melodies, The Big Bang is an aural experience that's dark, thought-provoking, absorbing and catchy. Here's an album that's like nothing you've heard before, yet seems like a long-lost friend each time you listen... This album also represents a personal triumph for atom(x). "I've reached a personal goal with this project that I have wanted to achieve for as long as I've been making music", he says. Considering that the entire album was composed, recorded, produced, mastered, and designed entirely by him it quickly becomes obvious why. This is one more way that this release places atom(bang) squarely "on the map" for fans of electronica world-wide. The Big Bang marks a new direction for the band, especially in terms of live performance. Rumour has it that since finishing the album, atom has been busy creating custom technology and visual effects for a spectacular live show. Well, it's not a rumour... it's in the works now, and due to hit the stage starting the first half of 2008. About atom(x): atom(x) is an independent composer / performer / producer / audio engineer based in Orlando, Florida, USA. He's been making music and recording others for over 15 years. Before he quit his day job to pursue his music career full-time, he was a code-wrangler, designing realtime simulation logic & visualization systems. Additionally, he's an accomplished print & motion graphics designer. When he's not making music, he can usually be found creating tools for integration of live visual imagery & effects into live performance, or designing sound for independent film. What other bands does atom(bang) sound like? Imagine if Paul Hartnoll of Orbital convinced the members of Skinny Puppy that they weren't really dead. Then, Underworld getting together with Bill Leeb (of Delerium / FLA fame) to write an album about it. Finally, Infected Mushroom and the Kronos Quartet all join in to add the atmospherics. Only, it sounds a little different from that. in partnership with CDbaby User tags: Votes: Reviews: Review it! (This product has no reviews yet) |
