Carlos 'Machito" Prieto was born in Camaguey, Cuba. From 1969-72 he lived in Madrid and Barcelona. From 1972-1999 he lived in Venezuela where he formed various rock groups ie: Extasis, Vertigo, Shadak, Atomo. Having more than 300 songs to his credit the Venezuelan Cultural Division assisted him in funging his own non-profit organization: Todoson, shich is dedicated to the teaching of experimental music. He also created the foundation, Proyecto Vida to help the poor children of Venezuel, for which his CD, 'El Nino Caballero' is dedicated.
Machito is currently living in Miami.
