Electronic composer/performer Cynthia Sternau finds her creative sources in poetry, mythology, and spirit, working with her computer, keyboard, wind controller, and synthesizers to produce instrumental cycles, short electronic operas, and other works for voice and electronics. Of her story-opera, "The Tale of Cupid & Psyche," reviewer Matt Borghi wrote: "Sternau has made great use of her electronic timbres, creating a vibrant, moviesoundtrack-esque recording. This recording strikes me as a sort of twentieth-century Shakespearean drama." "The Green Earth" cycle celebrates the cycles of life, death, and rebirth.
