FIRE IN THE BELLY
A tap dancer and stage performer from an early age,
Deborah spent years developing her words ideas and rhythms into a multifaceted performance style, and her own company, Energy Project Productions. In '97, Deborah armed herself with nothing more than acoustic guitar and headed off passionately to write and play in New York City.
Energy Project Productions is a family of performers who join Deborah in her various performance adventures. On Stay Awake, she is accompanied by such great artists as Brian Jordan (Karl Denson's Tiny Universe- jazz rock guitar), Anders Griffen (Lonesome Crew- ROCK/jazz drummer, and the unique underground stylings of Spencer Chakedis (who also engineered this little record).
Deborah has performed in such venues and events in New York as CBGB's, Lions Den, Baggot Inn, Makor, The Knitting Factory, Living Room, New York Independent Film Festival, NYC Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Clearwater Festival. And The Kendall Cafe (Boston), the Tin Angel (Philly), as well as toured most of New England, parts of the west coast, and a three month tour through Brazil, playing in Rio, Sao Paulo, and Salvador!
Deborah is currently recording a new cd of original songs.
