JNYC, native to "Da Boogie Down Bronx " as we like to call it, has a flow unlike "ANYONE" in the industry for the time being (someoneâs bound to copy of course), let us give you a little history: Born in Houston Texas, the Youngman Jerome Joseph Mends-Cole II was raised by his beloved grandmother along with his older brother "Mr. Mends". He later moved to California to rest, we stress the word rest due to a minute stay with his mother before shipping out to his father in New York. There he and his brother "Mr. Mends" developed their charismatic style along with a comedy show mocking the popular radio station Hot 97.1, way before the POWER 105.1 station was even fathomed. Growing up in the semi fabulous hood of E177st Park Chester, JNYC developed a freestyle game that entertained his friends, teachers, relatives, and drug dealers (lets just say his flow was the crack for the ear...if we can state that!!!! yikes). Contrary to most assumed beliefs JNYC however, was and still is a straight âAâ student receiving the Presidents Award, an Associates in Arts, and is currently excelling towards obtaining his BA in Communications (had to silence any misconceptions for those potential haters). Now at the age of 20, JNYC has established himself as independent artist with a track record that dates back to his 1999 AT&T prepaid cell phone. Hundreds would call just to hear his infamous flow recorded on his voicemail. Fully equipped with a Mr. Mends beat box and a J-Skillz flow (previous performance name before JNYC) we can only imagine how his call log looked on paper. For now, JNYC is busy at work (murdering 8's, 16âs, hooks, and Mixtapes) while promoting his long awaited debut album âStuck In My Ways ". PS: For those who might be creatively deficient, JNYC is pronounced kinetically as J-NICE (NYC stands for New York City).
