Max Milligan has been a performing guitarist since 1973 when he formed his first rock band GONDOLIN, they played support to many bands in the 70âs. Within a few years he had joined Breeze which later became The Dave Hammond Set. In these bands he honed his musical skills playing many styles to back the artists playing from all over the world arriving to perform at the Nitespot in Bedford UK and Cesars Palace.

Some of the high lights were working with Matt Monroe, Diane Solomon and Georgie Fame. He then played guitar as Musical Director for The New Dakotas backing 60âs legend Billy J Kramer. He toured with the band for two years.

During the 80âs he joined the premier Soul/Funk band from Bedford OCEAN.
They toured the U.K.dishing up the funk. Then followed countless sessions in the U.K. ( Townhouse, Battery, Battle and New York ( Midi City , Madonnaâs studio 1987) and working at the Guitar Institute, Acton, London for 12 years. He continued his love of Jazz/ Funk and Blues playing in Nasuna with Dave Harvey ( Bass) and Tony Morton ( Drums ) and J.B.Q. a Jazz/Blues Hammond organ quartet.
Max also worked on the London West End musical 125th Street.
He has featured on albums as diverse as Stevie Vâs hip hop album Dirty Cash to Asian Bangra artist Apache Indian.
He is always busy composing incidental music for T.V. companies and songwriting.
He is currently writing with U.K. singer songwriter Jayne Taylor ( Beverly Craven, Liberty X, Sugababes). He gigs around Europe with John Verity ( ex Argent ) and a sensational up and coming jazz/blues star Cherry Lee Mewis. Max also teaches Guitar at I.C.M.P. Kilburn London UK.

The album Homage is a chance for Max to play some of his favourite acoustic tunes and pay his dues to the influences on his playing over the years.
The album features the beautiful vocal talents of Laura Bettinson and the raw Blues of Cherry Lee Mewis.
