Jam Music Magazine calls Love on the Loose "a gem that belongs near the top" of current singer/songwriter releases, due to the "catchy, soft tunes that sneak up, they all work!"
Face Magazine credits Deidre's "rich expressive voice (as) the high point of the record."
Deidre was chosen as the Best Folk Artist of the Year 2000, in the Seacoast Newspaper's, Reader's Choice Spotlight Awards.
In 1999 and in 2000, Deidre was also nominated for Jam Music Magazine's Female Artist of the Year. She was a nominee for a Portsmouth Herald Spotlight award in 1999 and in 2001 as well.
Deidre released her debut CD, "Love on the Loose", on Dave Marshall's Fat Cuz Records label in December of 1998. Deidre shares this label with Big Chicken and Dave Gerard of Truffle. The CD "Love on the Loose," features; Dave Marshall(Big Chicken), Todd Jones (High Range), Charlie Strater, Ed Jurdi, Rob Duquette (Cactus Highway) & Chris O'Neill (Amorphous Band).
"Lovers Try Again", from Love on the Loose,has been chosen for a compilation disc project which will benefit area land trusts. The project is called SOUL CD (Save Our Undeveloped Land), and it was released in the spring of 2001.
Deidre is a N.H. native whose influences include: Bob Dylan, Josh White, Johnny Cash, Judy Collins, Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, and Nancy Griffith. She began performing and writing when she was 12 years old.
Deidre has opened for Merrie Amsterburg, Harvey Reid, Les Sampou and Bill Miller, among others. Her favorite venues include: The Music Hall and The Press Room, both in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, The Stone Church Music Club, in Newmarket, NH and the Kennebunk Coffehouse, in Maine.
Deidre was the MC/organizer for The Stone Church's Acoustic Open Mic Series, Nov. 1999 to Jan. 2002. She was also the MC/organizer for Writers in the Round at AD's Barbeque in Portsmouth, NH, Oct. 2002 to present.
Performed live on 91.3FM/WUNH in Durham, NH, 89.1FM/WEVO/NH Public Radio in Concord, NH, & WERS Coffeehouse in Boston, Mass.
Chosen to perform at the Market Square Day 2000 Homecoming Folks Concert with Harvey Reid at the Portsmouth Music Hall in June of 2000. Chosen for the New Faces Showcase for the Prescott Park 1999 Folk Festival.
