Details:
Her passion is the traditional folk music of Britain, Ireland and North America. At the heart of her repertoire are the ballads: compelling tales of empowerment, calamity and the supernatural. Paddy Tutty's performances encompass a miscellany of old and new music including ancient ballads, songs of labour and love, seasonal pageants, humourous songs and new pieces from some of today's finest writers. She rounds out her concerts with dance tunes from many cultures including French bourrées, Shetland tunes, and Irish airs. Powering the rhythm and ancient drone of the music are Paddy's guitar and fretted dulcimer, fiddle and concertina.

Born and raised on the Canadian Prairies, Paddy Tutty has toured extensively in Canada during the last three decades, performing at folk clubs, concert halls, libraries and schools, as well as appearing at numerous folk festivals. In addition to her solo work, she has collaborated with other musicians in theatre, music, storytelling and recording projects. Working with such renowned producers as David Essig, Ken Hamm and Ian Tamblyn, Paddy has released several recordings on her independent label Prairie Druid Music.

Paddy Tutty has embraced the traditional folk music of the British Isles and Canada and has breathed new life into this most enchanted music form. This modern day troubadour has sought to share the wonder and joy derived from this music with an ever-growing audience and will continue to do so in the coming years.
