Dearest Sir (or Madam â for I dare not presume your sex),
I am writing with warmest regards to the Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy. It is rather likely, if I may, that you are asking yourself âwho is the Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy?â Well, if this be the case, please allow my humble elaboration. The THT does not reside in Washington nor have they been formally accused of farming evil. These fine gentlemen hail from her majestyâs royal city of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and it may be said, in my humble opinion, that they cultivate the most wonderful music.
For the past twelve years Brad Giefert and Darryl Stevenson have been writing, arranging, recording and performing together. In 2003 they formed Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy, employing friends and a rotating cast of local musicians, Brad and Darryl have remained the foundation of the band.
Releasing a self titled E.P. in the spring of 2003 the boys found themselves winning over fans at the Halifax Pop Explosion. It wouldnât be until early 2005, that the THT would release their first full length (Dirty Water Flows). Dirty Water Flows received strong airplay on Canadian college radio and harnessed solid reviews in the Canadian press.
Most recently, sessions of raw 4-track recording in the fall and winter months have led the boys into the studio with a collection of new songs for their third and (in my opinion) most ambitious album to date: Orchard Songs.
In closing, most esteemed Sir (or Madam â for I dare not presume your sex), please allow me to invite you to spend a few moments with the Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy⦠I dare say their songs simply must be heard.
Most Humbly Yours,
Sir January Frank
