Details:
In January, 2000, Dentel released the CD Walls of Stone on Vortex Records. On Walls of Stone, Dentel
explores a more intimate side of his songwriting. Current Magazine wrote about Walls of Stone, "Dentel
immediately splits your heart with dappled soul rays of his folk-gospel-blues voice, singular presence,
and cleansing songcraft." Produced by Brian Delaney of the Ann Arbor based Royal Garden Trio,
Walls of Stone is a collection of stories about love and spirit in a folk/gospel setting.

Charlie Dentel is a dynamic performer who presents
a diverse mix of original music and standards rooted
in R&B and soul. Dentel performs with members of
the Motor City Horns, with whom he has recently
recorded a CD called Innocent Things. The new CD
features powerful original songs with an intelligent
and fresh soulful sound, filled up with exciting horn
arrangements and smashing vocals.

"Finesse was the operative word....as Dentel's voice piped like a gospel organ, carefully modulating his delivery, with wonderful treatments of ballads."

Mark Ziemba, Current Magazine, Feb. 2001

"This guy is fantastic....His music is evocative, complex, tender and soulful."

Todd Spencer, Current Magazine, Apr. 1997
