Born in Comanche, TX, singer/songwriter Tony Lane grew up playing the bars in
Texas. Lane made the move to Nashville in the early 90âs and has been signed to Famous
Music Publishing (currently Sony Music) since 1997.
In 1998 he helped Lee Ann Womack avoid the proverbial sophomore slump when she
reached #1 with his song âA Little Past Little Rock.â Lane also had another hit by Womack
with the Top 10 record âNow You See Me (Now You Donât)â.
Lane hit the top of the charts again when George Strait took his song âRunâ to number
one in 2001. Laneâs powerful song âLetters From Homeâ recorded by Montgomery Gentry garnered considerable press and
appreciation from country music fans and families of armed service officers alike.
Sara Evans included Laneâs song âI Learned That From Youâ on her double platinum
album Born to Fly, and his song âTattoos and Scarsâ was the title cut from Montgomery
Gentryâs debut. Tonyâs other cuts include âThis Ole Heartâ (Terri Clark), âBus To
