William the Conqueror formed in May of 2007. Ryan Comerford (lead vocals/guitar/sax), Colin Breeze (lead guitar) and Scott Christian (keyboard) met each other at the faculty of music, University of Toronto.

Because the personal strengths and styles of each band member are so unique to the individual, the band is difficult to classify at first-glance. It is the combination of Colinâs masterful technique, Ryanâs husky voice, and Scottâs keen ear for harmony that gives this ensemble a class of its own. The band takes inspiration from several genres of music including pop, rock, indie, folk, and even occasionally classical and flamenco. Theyâre also not afraid of collaboration, as seen through performances with Kiki Dube, their violinist.

Despite the band membersâ formal training, theyâve made sure that the music does not just consist of technically well-composed songs, but tunes that people will enjoy listening to. It is music that can make you laugh, make you dance, and break your heart with its honesty.

In October 2007, the band released it's inaugural recording, the self-titled Acoustic EP, to a full house at the Hard Rock Cafe in Toronto. Tracks from the EP have been featured on the Toronto Indie Podcast and the Insomnia Radio Indie Music Podcast.

They are currently in the studio recording their first full length album, "The Science of Who You Are" to be unveiled Spring 2008.
