Born to a Tennessee mom and Texas dad, a musician & farmer, (Bill) William Thomas Carlile and Bertha Lee, they met in Arkansas, married and reared a family. I was #6 of 8 siblings. Weighing in at only 3 pounds at birth and sickly, they didn't think I would live. But said I lived just for spite!
I could sing at 3 or 4 years old, and carry a tune. They said we were a singing family. By the time I was 10 years old or so - I remember listening to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturyday night and I loved it.
Though I grew up, got married and reared 6 children, and all this time, had this in the back of my mind. Singing in Nashville, I sang and started trying to write poetry and songs, I just couldn't give up. Then one day I was looking in Country Weekly magazine, responded to an ad, and the rest is history.
The love of music got me!
