Erika DeSocio is a 21 yr. old singer-songwriter from Syracuse, NY. She has been singing for about 7 years independently. She started by doing talent shows in school and karaoke contests at local events, then started getting recognition for her powerful singing voice. She loves to sing for people and have them enjoy her singing. When asked what the best part about singing was to her, she said, "It gives me the best feeling in the world to sing a song that means something to me and project that feeling to everyone in the audience. I love making people smile."
Erika has played keyboard by ear for years, played flute in middle school and wrote and played guitar for her song, "Still." Her favorite musical artists include Maroon 5, Sting, Britney Spears, Ashlee & Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams, Coldplay & David Gray.
Mark Bialczak, from Syracuse's The Post Standard wrote a review of Erika's Debut Album on January 16, 2005, and this is some of what he had to say, "DeSocio sings pop songs with an edge. She wrote or co-wrote all 10 songs on the disc, and the results should be easy on the ears to the generation that appreciates let-it-all-hang-out singing about topics such as love, hurt, friendship and shaping the ideals that make you what you are."
Overall, Erika DeSocio's Debut CD, goes through every emotion a young girl can endure and yet somehow, is also a favorite among young teens, women in their 30's & Men in their 50's. Her music gives a little bit to everyone, with piano for the softer Jazz vibe, Rockin Guitar for the Classic Rock Fans & the R&B influenced Vocals for anyone that listens to the popular artists of today.
