Solo artist Doug Gordon has assembled "The Doug Gordon Band" to support, showcase and perform songs from his recently released "self titled," first independent CD. His distinctive voice and old school guitar approach combined with soaring melodies and solid songwriting has opened up some eyes and ears.
Doug has toured and performed with such NY rock bands, Mr. Nasty (Screaming Skull records) and Tabitha (BMC records). Having the opportunity to open for L.A. Guns, Shotgun Messiah, Michael Monroe, Raging Slab, and Grim Reaper on their tri-state legs of their tours has brought this rocker full circle and ready for the release of his first solo CD.
The Doug Gordon Band features top notch musicians from the New York/Long Island music scene. Frank DeGiorno (guitar, vocals), A.J. Riegger (bass, vocals), Ken Jockers (keys, sax, flute, guitar, vocals), Richie Kurz (drums, vocals) and Will Chimienti (percussion, vocals).
Having recorded the CD at Breeze Bayou Studios in Long Island with producer/engineer Rich Belkin, some songs have already found their way to the airwaves. Doug's song "Angel of my life" was released in "Car and Audio" magazine in Japan as one of the songs in a promotional issue in which 30,000 copies were distributed to their subscribers. The song has received airplay and great reviews from the listeners in Japan. Doug's song "War Heroes" was the bonus track on the single "Proud to be Americans are we" on Cooch records. "War Heroes," "The Hole" "'Til death do us part" and "Oneonta" have also made it to some college radio stations, while most of the CD has been in rotation on many internet radio stations.
"The Doug Gordon Band" is ready to take the show on the road; it is one show you don't want to miss as they pull out all the stops in this live show!
