From Take Five to My Foolish Heart, Urban Standards is a collection of my favorite Jazz Standards as well as my favorite composers: Duke, Garner, Gershwin, Rodgers and Heart, that's as good as it gets. I foud a stellar group of musicians to work with. Kevin Flournoy - keys, C.C. Thomas - bass and Tony Moore on drum programming. The idea was not to do just another Jazz Standard CD, instead to find a new way of arranging and producing the material. Everybody involves did an exceptional job to make the CD sound contemporary but still keeping the traditional spirit of the music. Enjoy! Make sure to check out Urban Standards Vol. II.
