With a sound that has been described as "a breath of fresh air", District involves numerous styles and sounds from the likes of Counting Crows, Something Corporate, John Mayer, and Ben Folds to create a genuinely unique, honest, and emotional sound. According to one District fan, District has "a sound that is not easily placed with the bands of today...making District, in my opinion, one of the best new things of the year."

Songs from the new album include the emotional "Best Day", "Hello Love", and "Can't Wait 'till It Rains". Previews of all songs from the debut album can be accessed from the band's website.

The new album was recorded privately in Carmel, IN and mastered in Tuscon, AZ. The album was manufactured by OasisCD Manufacturing in Sperryville, VA. The self-titled compact disc will be available for sale on the band's website, Amazon.com, Target.com, as well as various other online digital distributors.

District is based out of Indianapolis, IN. The band is comprised of singer Nick Steele, 21, guitarist Ryan Dempsey, 21, bassist Tom Anderson, 21, and drummer Aaron Dempsey, 18. District, previously Square Moon Conspiracy, have performed at numerous venues in and around Indianapolis, IN. The band plans to heavily promote the new album Summer 2005.
