From out of the mountains of Virginia & the Ozarks, an exciting new rock trio-Divided by three

Our musical mission statement:

This band is family...literally. Three members, two of which are brothers, the third, a brother-in-law, totally committed to writing original music and when in the mood, we play creative covers for fun. The band's age range spans three decades. Tim is seventeen, Curtiss is twenty-seven and Michael is thirty-five. So we have the teens, the twenty somethings and the thirty somethings covered. That's three decades of musical appeal at work for ya!
We hope that our music brings you joy and excitement, as much as it does us. We all would love to have the music provide us with the opportunity to do it full time, pay our bills and have fun, because it is truly what we love to do-that my friends is the goal.

Who does what?

Tim Long- bass
Tim is truly the little brother of the group and the most adorable. Young girls will eat him up and the mom's will want to pinch his cheek. Tim is our definitive source of teenage angst and emotion. Tim has a great love of music and just as equal, is his passion for it, not to mention his ever-expanding talent on the bass guitar.

Curtiss Long- drums
All Curtiss wants to do is play the drums. If he could do that and nothing else, he would be as happy as a clam. Curtiss' past credits include a musical collaboration that was considered for use on the "This Old House" television program.

Michael Wilkinson- voice, guitar, piano
Michael will tell you that his first love is songwriting. The writing has always been there for him and continues to be one of his greatest passions, and blessings.
Michael has performed throughout the mid atlantic area quite extensively in his past musical lives in such bands as Barrage, Assylum, First Impression, Dr. Seuss, Riff Raff, and Grunjee Mutt. He has worked with James Turner Productions, Cellar Door Productions and various club owners throughout the area, supporting such notable national acts as, Blue Oyster Cult, Steppenwolf, Billy Squier, Ugly Kid Joe, Lynch Mob and Tora Tora.

Band Bio

Divided by three consists of two brothers and their brother-in-law, who discovered by accident that they could really write well together.

It all started off innocent enough. After moving from Springfield, MO to Strasburg, VA, Curtiss needed a place to store his drums and I had the space. We started jamming purely for fun. Tim didn't even play bass at this point.
Tim would mainly contribute lyrics and try to be as much a part of the music as possible. He is our definitive source of teenage angst and emotion.

Then the first two songs set the stage, Last Goodbye and Side of the Road. These two songs would eventually lead us to the rest of the CD.

It was at this point that Tim decided to try the bass since we needed one. I told Tim that I would buy him a bass if he helped me paint my house. The rest is history. Tim continues to amaze us with his ability.

The songs came fast and furious. In fact, it completely side lined my second solo album that I had been working on. So we set out in August of 2004 to record them for posterity so that we could focus on the new stuff that continues to develop. We recorded a total of 10 songs that are featured on our new CD.
