David Bankston is back with another solo album. As usual he records with the very best players. Along with his seamless, masterful vocals, the CD features slide guitar wizard and fellow Louisianian, Sonny Landreth, on three cuts, a rhythm section anchored by six string fretless electric bass virtuoso Steve Bailey, tenor saxophone prodigy, Stephen Riley, and beautiful acoustic guitar work by Sam Broussard.

The songs are a mix of jazzy Americana, bluesy standards, and sophisticated contemporary folk. As always, Bankstonâs heart is never far from home, Louisiana. At first hearing his style may not be exactly what has come to represent Louisiana music, but if you listen you will hear the land and the people. The melodies obey the lyrics. You will find both very interesting.
